Formatting your screen name allows you to add spaces and change capitalization of the characters. So if your screen name was "Steve Case" you could change it to "s T e V e C a Se", up to 16 characters. This change will only appear on other people's Buddy Lists though.
- Download AIM if you don't already have it. If you do not have it you will need to follow the instructions and register your current AOL screen name as an AIM name. This will only take a few seconds to do.
- Sign on your AIM/AOL name with AOL Instant Messenger.
- Click the menus File | My Options | Format Screen Name.
- Edit your current screen name and click "OK"
